Fine Line Instrument Newsletter Summer 2010

Jul 06, 2010

We were welcomed to July by a cool drizzle that seems to accompany most 4th of July’s in the great Northwest. For those who have recently arrived from points east, if you plan to watch the fireworks, bring plenty of blankets and a fleece. It’s not unlike a Mariners game in April, if you have ever done that. At some point within the next few weeks, the mercury will actually rise above 70. With any luck, we will see sustained 70 plus temperatures through August, but no guarantees, especially in an El Nino year (or is it La Nina)?

Aside from issues with the weather, Fine Line has no complaints. Business has remained brisk and we continue to see positive signs that the national economy is growing. Alternative energy research and Green initiatives are certainly helping fuel the local economy, while our traditional industrial markets recover. We are optimistic that this trend will continue and eventually our industrial customers will become fully healthy.

The biggest news of the year for Fine Line is that we have been appointed as the industrial representatives for Magnetrol for the Northwest, to go along with our existing partnership with Magnetrol for the municipal and sanitary markets. We are honored and pleased to have gained this important product line and we look forward to assisting our industrial customers with Magnetrol’s excellent solutions for level and flow measurement.

In closing, I am sad to announce that our beloved Mariners have once again made an early exit from the AL play-off race. We had high hopes for the M’s this year, but in keeping with tradition, they are hopelessly out of contention before the All Star break. All we can say, as we say nearly every year, is “Wait until next year.”
