Fine Line Instrument Newsletter Spring '09
Mar 30, 2009
Having dozed off, I failed to write the winter newsletter. I may have been affected by the interminable cold and snowy weather or it may have been that pesky age thing. In any case, I am pleased to have awakened in time to announce proudly that Fine Line Instrument celebrates 15 years in business on April 1 this year. And that is no April fools joke.
After a record 2008, we could not expect more of the same in 2009. And though we are off of last year’s pace, we haven’t seen as dramatic a drop in sales, as one might expect if listening to the pundits. This is thanks in part to the fact that we have the good fortune to represent excellent companies, who manufacture quality products. Our customers need quality products now more than ever to help reduce down time and to improve efficiency.
The Northwest has a healthy mix of industrial markets, from oil refineries to alternate energy production to food and clean water processing. This balance gives us confidence that our region will continue to ride this economic hiccup and emerge stronger than ever.
My thanks to The Washington Husky men’s basketball team, whose fabulous season helped to ease the sting of winter. We are rooting on The Canucks and The Trailblazers in their respective playoff runs. Here’s to hoping the newly minted Seattle Sounders FC can make a big splash in the MLS. And now can we please see a few signs of Spring?
